Textual: IRC for Mac OS X

After using Colloquy on my Mac and X-Chat & mIRC on Windows, I think I would have to say that Textual is one of the nicest and easiest IRC clients i’ve ever used.

Textual is a lightweight IRC client created specifically to work on Mac OS X. It was designed with simplicity in mind. An easy to use application is always a good thing. It’s easy to use functionality combined with scripting support makes it an ideal client for novice to advanced users.

As you know, the launch of the Mac App Store is right around the corner and Textual is ready. Textual will be exclusively available, unfortunately for purchase, through the Mac App Store. It will be $8.99 USD with all future updates free of charge.

On a side note, keep in mind that the Mac App Store will only be available on Macintosh computers running Snow Leopard 10.6 or newer.

Textual will remain open source (for all of you ‘coders’) under the new BSD license which allows users who choose to download and compile the source code to create their own custom builds.
